Earth Day 2010 activities in North Seattle

April 12, 2010

in Activities and Play,Holidays,Sustainability

Our friends over at My Green Lake have a good list of Earth Day 2010 activities happening near or at Green Lake.

Earth Day is on April 22, and this year is the 40th anniversary of the advocacy day, which aims to raise awareness and advance climate policy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green jobs.

What are your plans for the day?

Earth Day is the perfect day to view and discuss the potential designs for the new Park that will be going in over the reservoir! Serendipitiously, the next Parks Dept Public meeting is scheduled for Earth Day, Thursday, April 22nd, from 6:30 to 8:30 (make sure you get there in plenty of time to sign in so we get the full two hours to discuss the designs and ask questions). The meeting is at Olympic View Elementary and the Maple Leaf Community Council/Friends for a Greater Maple Leaf Park will be sponsoring professional childcare for all those parents who would like to participate, but could use some childcare services.

This is our chance to see how well our Landscape Architects, The Berger Partnership, heard what we would like for our park. Please make an effort to join in!

Yes, yes, and yes! Don’t worry, Donna, I plan to remind people excessively about the meeting. :)

Really like your Earth Day image. Also live in WA – down near Kent. /;)
