Seattle City Light’s north substation is hosting a herd of 270 goats (yes, 270!) to clear a slope of blackberries. This is the third time in four years the goats have helped clear the weeds. The goats are provided by Healing Hooves, an organization from Eastern Washington that has been working with the city since 2006.
We all know how darn fast blackberries grow. Ugh, I have them all over my backyard (goats … mind traveling northeast for a day?)
For those who haven’t seen the tweets about them, or seen them physically, Seattle City Light now has video of the goats working hard (or, I suppose to them, hardly working).
You can see the goats for yourself by heading to 814 NE 75th Street (Map)
