According to KOMO TV, a man is under arrest after he allegedly started a fire at a Maple Leaf-area home where he has lived with his family for about 30 years.
It happened at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, January 8. Police received calls about flames coming from the home at 88th and 2nd Avenue NE. As firefighters arrived, the father’s son came out and said his father apparently started the fire in his bedroom and was refusing to leave the house.
Firefighters were able to reach the father, who was then taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation. After his release, the man was booked into King County jail for investigation of arson.
